VR-1986HK Quantification
How is ATCC® VR-1986HK ™ quantified?

Each vial of ATCC® VR-1986HK™ contains 250 µL of frozen heat-inactivated virus preparation and the quantification is reported as genome copies/µL. The post-inactivation genome equivalence (GE) quantification is performed by amplification of genome fragments and should be treated as an estimate for end-users to qualify assays on their platform. The calculation of genome copies that ATCC performs is absolute quantification by Droplet digital PCR™ (Bio-Rad®); therefore, we do not do any conversion based on the molecular weight and/or genome size.
