It may be solid at this temperature. However, it may also be stored at room temperature where it remains a liquid. Applications DMSO is used as a cyroprotectant for the cryopreservation of cell lines. ATCC DMSO is cell culture grade and has been tested to assure nontoxicity and sterility. Biosafety Level 1 Biosafety classification is based on U.S. Public Health Service Guidelines, it is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that their facilities comply with biosafety regulations for their own country. Quality Control Specifications Bulk material from each lot has been tested on ATCC cell lines to insure it is nontoxic when used at concentrations of 10% or less. Bulk material from each lot is also tested before dispensing for contamination by bacteria or fungi. Permits These permits may be required for shipping this product: Customers located in the state of Hawaii will need to contact the Hawaii Department of Agriculture to determine if an Import Permit is required.
