Microbial Media and Supplements

 Freeze Media
ATCC, the microbe preservation experts, can help you with long-term storage of cultures. Just add actively growing cells to the freeze medium, mix well, and store at -80ºC. When needed, thaw the suspension and inoculate fresh culture medium.

TSB with 10% glycerol
Tryptic soy broth with glycerol is used for cryopreservation of nonfastidious bacteria. Each freeze medium is packaged in 12 single-use units containing 1.0 ml each. The vial label is specially designed with space for writing the strain information.

Media Supplements
With ATCC media supplements you can reduce media prep time and minimize lab errors by adding several ingredients in one step. The trace mineral and vitamin supplements are used in many ATCC recommended media, especially those for cultivating extremophiles. The Mycoplasma Growth Supplement is a well-defined media supplement used in the cultivation of many mycoplasma strains. It combines over 50 trace ingredients into one powder to simplify the preparation of complex mycoplasma media.
